Ingredients

0/5 ready
  • 2 cups raw peanuts
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

The Story & Steps

Roasted peanuts are great, but honey-gochugaru roasted peanuts are dangerously good. The Korean red pepper flakes bring a fruity, complex heat that's nothing like standard red pepper flakes, while the honey creates a glossy coating that makes these impossible to stop eating.

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Spread the raw peanuts on the prepared baking sheet and roast for 15 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
  3. While the peanuts roast, whisk together honey, gochugaru, soy sauce, and sesame oil in a large bowl.
  4. Remove the peanuts from the oven and immediately toss them in the honey-gochugaru mixture while they're still hot, stirring until evenly coated.
  5. Spread the coated peanuts back on the baking sheet in a single layer and return to the oven for 8-10 minutes until the coating is set and slightly caramelized. Let cool completely before serving—they'll crisp up as they cool.

Storage tip: Keep these in an airtight container for up to two weeks. They're perfect for entertaining, gifting, or late-night snacking straight from the jar.
